The eighth day of the 12th lunar month on Jan 7, 2025, is the Chinese traditional Laba Festival! This day marks a prelude to the Spring Festival, and eating Laba porridge is also customary. Yixing's Laba porridge is made from various grains and vegetables, which differs from the sweet taste in other places, offering a unique salty flavor.
农历腊月初八（1月7日）是中国传统“腊八节”。这一天是春节的序章，吃腊八粥也是传统节日习俗。宜兴的腊八粥，不同于他处的甜糯，而是独有一番咸鲜风味，汇聚了五谷杂粮与各式时蔬的精华。

Yixing selenium-rich soil earns national recognition
近日，中国地质学会正式发布第四批天然富硒土地的认定结果，宜兴张渚镇、丁蜀镇、湖㳇镇成功上榜！此次认证的富硒土壤，面积近16万亩。这些土壤孕育出了大米、瓜果、蔬菜等有机硒产品，有着独一无二的风味与丰富的营养。

Yixing PV project to transmit power
The first phase of an agricultural PV power generation project with complementary solar power in Xinjian town, Yixing, is ready to transmit electricity on Jan 7. Once operational, it will deliver more than 120 million kWh of clean electricity annually to the State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 120,000 metric tons.
1月7日，宜兴新建镇农光互补光伏发电一期项目已正式具备向外送电条件！一期投产后，每年可向江苏电网输送清洁电能1.2亿千瓦时以上，可减排二氧化碳约12万吨。
