To further facilitate cross-border travel, China keeps on upgrading visa policy and offering visa free treatment to more countries. This move will not only boost China’s economy and tourism but also cultural exchange between the nations.
1. Add 9 more countries to the "visa-free circle"
Travelers from Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and South Korea can now visit China without a visa. Starting from November 8 to the end of 2025, visitors from these countries can visit China for 15 days without a visa.
2.Solomon Islands
On November 7, 2024, China and the Solomon Islands have signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for each other's citizens, according to the Chinese Embassy in the Solomon Islands. This policy expands China's "visa-free circle" to 52 countries in total.
3."Lancang-Mekong visa"
On November 7, 2024, China has decided to issue "Lancang-Mekong visas" to five countries along the Mekong River.
China will grant five-year multiple-entry visas to qualified business people from the five countries — Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, Li said.
Lancang and Mekong refer to the same river that runs across China and the five Southeast Asian nations.

VISA CARE reminds you that the visa-free treatment is limited to specific short-term purposes and does not apply to long-term stays for purposes such as work and study. For long-term stays, visas still need to be obtained in advance.
