The owl-shaped wine vessel "Xiaoyou"，was unearthed in 1957 at Erlangpo Village, Lvliang, Shanxi. The “xiao” is an owl, which the ancients called a cixiao. The “you” is a container specifically used for holding fine wine and is an important sacrificial vessel from the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

The entire piece is round, solid, and exudes a majestic presence, featuring bulging eyes, sharp beaks, fierce facial expressions, and robust legs and feet. Every detail accentuates the owl's role as a formidable divine bird.
