陶行知（1891年10月18日－1946年7月25日），原名陶文濬，安徽省歙县人，中国人民教育家、思想家，伟大的民主主义战士，爱国者，中国人民救国会和中国民主同盟的主要领导人之一，景星学社社员。
Tao Xingzhi (October 18, 1891 - July 25, 1946), originally named Tao Wenjun, was born in Shexian County, Anhui Province. He was a Chinese people's educator, thinker, great democratic fighter, patriot, one of the main leaders of the Chinese People's Salvation Congress and the China Democratic League, and a member of Jingxing Society.

陶行知毕生致力于教育事业，创立完整理论体系并开展大量实践。其教育思想以创新为金线，包括革除旧弊、打破束缚。在培养目标上，针对旧教育培养“人上人”，他提出新教育应培养全面发展的“人中人”。为我国教育现代化做出开创性贡献。
Tao Xingzhi has devoted his life to the cause of education, created a complete theoretical system and carried out a lot of practice. Its educational ideology is based on innovation, including the elimination of old evils and the breaking of shackles. In terms of training goals, in view of the old education to cultivate "people", he proposed that the new education should cultivate all-round development of "people among people". It has made pioneering contributions to the modernization of education in China.

陶行知以赤子之忱表达的思想和实践，代表了近代中国先进文化的前进方向。近代中国的危机多难，又使“教育救国”成为许多知识分子的梦想，陶行知正是其中最为杰出的人物之一。他以“捧着一颗心来，不带半根草去”的赤子之忱，为中国教育探寻新路。最可贵的是，他不仅在理论上进行探索，又以“甘当骆驼”的精神努力践行平民教育，30年如一日矢志不移，其精神为人所同钦，世所共仰。
