The Southern Sky Will Be Better

十一年前，为响应“一带一路”国际合作倡议，传承和延续古代丝绸之路文化，在全球1216名国际民间学者的支持下，我与联合国原副秘书长冀朝铸前辈创立世界和平丝带组织，提出五合一世界和平主张，将每年12月16日设立“一带一路”国际日，得到了第八届联合国秘书长潘基文、联合国教科文组织前总干事博科娃等国际友人的关心和支持。十一年来，在各国民间社会的响应和支持下，在各国新闻媒体的大力宣传和推广下，“一带一路”国际日已经成为倡导世界和平理念，最具国际影响力的民间节日。
Eleven years ago, with the support of 1,216 international folk scholars around the world, the former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Ji Chaozhu and I founded the World Peace Ribbon Organization in response to the "Belt and Road" Initiative and to inherit and continue the ancient Silk Road culture. The organization put forward the idea of five-in-one world peace, and designated December 16 as the "Belt and Road" International Day, which have received the care and support of the 8th United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the former Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova and other international friends. Over the past 11 years, with the response and support of international community, and with the vigorous publicity and promotion of the news media of various countries, the "Belt and Road" International Day has become a folk festival with the most international influence advocating the concept of world peace.

近年来，南方丝绸之路及全球南方国家自发举办“一带一路”国际日万灯祈福活动，将我们的目光引向了南方丝绸之路及全球南方，这些国家更需要共建“一带一路”，更需要中国改革开放的成功经验。为此，世界和平丝带组织不仅与南方丝绸之路及全球南方国家民间社会共同举办文化活动，并且成立了世界和平丝带组织南方丝绸之路及全球南方国际合作委员会，简称南合组织。南方丝绸之路是中国通往全球南方的黄金之路，南合组织立足印太，深耕南方丝绸之路，打造全球南方经济示范特区，从而引领全球南方发展，造福全球南方国家和人民。
In recent years, countries along the Southern Silk Road and in the global South have spontaneously held activities to celebrate the "Belt and Road" International Day and pray for world peace. These have drawn our attention to the Southern Silk Road and the Global South. These countries need the “Belt and Road" more, and need China's successful experience in reform and opening up more. To this end, the World Peace Ribbon Organization has not only co-organized cultural exchange activities with civil society of the Southern Silk Road and the Global South, but also established the World Peace Ribbon Organization Southern Silk Road and the Global South International Cooperation Committee(SSCO). The Southern Silk Road is China's golden route to the Global South. Based on the Indo-Pacific, the SSCO will deeply develop the Southern Silk Road and build the global southern economic demonstration special zone, so as to lead the development of the Global South and benefit the countries and peoples of the Global South.

每逢“一带一路”国际日，我倡议全球南方有条件的国家放假一天，免过路过桥费，也倡议民间人士自己放假一天，让我们一起共度这个属于我们国际民间社会的美好节日，传承和延续古代丝绸之路。最后，我再次祝愿世界人民节日快乐，幸福美满，祝愿全球南方国家人民吉祥如意、幸福安康。南丝传千秋，南天更美好。
I advocate that countries in the Global South take a day off on the Belt and Road International Day and waive tolls when appropriate. I also advocate that people give themselves a day off, so that we can spend this beautiful festival that belongs to our international civil society together, and inherit and continue the ancient Silk Road. Finally, once again, I wish the people of the world a happy holiday. I wish the people of the Global South good luck, happiness and well-being. The Southern Silk Road will be passed down for thousands of years, and the southern sky will be better.
