Dongsi Hutong Museum 东四胡同博物馆 dōngsì hútòng bówùguǎn
Less of a proper museum and more of an art project, the Dongsi Hutong Museum is a converted hutong courtyard house on Dongsisitiao that is home to a number of art installations, rotating exhibitions and other activities.

Why Visit?
If not for the Instagrammable shots, it’s a nice little space to stumble upon in the Dongsi area – perhaps before jaunting off for a tipple nearby or to witness American artist James Turrell's only installation in China. It’s quiet, not crowded from our experience, and a rather contemplative experience.
The Details
The Dongsi Hutong Museum has free entry and is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through Sundays, 9am-noon and 2pm-5pm. The museum is closed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and holidays.
