The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) has been awarded funding by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, acting through the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations. Through the grant, the UniSQ will convene two summits focused on drought, climate change and sustainable agriculture. One Forum will be held at Lanzhou University, Gansu Province, China and a second at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. An exchange study tour program for next generation researchers and agricultural industry leaders from Australia and China will be organised to coincide with the summits to explore opportunities in climate-smart agricultural practices across academia and industry in both countries. The project intends to establish a pipeline of research collaborations which will provide support for Chinese international students and scholars to connect with the broader Australian community.
