“Generally speaking, if you are using generative AI for learning, you are unlikely to need to acknowledge it.
If you are using it to create material for submission (for example, as part of an assessment), you will most likely need to acknowledge and/or reference it.”
==================
一、Acknowledging the use of AI
Example 1.
I acknowledge the use of [1] ChatGPT [2] (https://chat.openai.com/) [3] to refine the academic language and accuracy of my own work. On 4 January 2023 I submitted my entire essay (link to google document here) with the instruction to “Improve the academic tone and accuracy of language, including grammatical structures, punctuation and vocabulary”. [5] The output (here) was then modified further to better represent my own tone and style of writing.
{Legend: [1] AI system(s); [2] link to the tool; [3] how the tool was used or prompts included; [4] output included in the task [5] edits and changes made to the output.}
Example 2.
I acknowledge the use of <ChatGPT (https://chat.openai.com/)> to <refine the academic language of my own work>.
I entered the following prompts: "Compare the cytotoxic ability for mitochondrial inhibitor agents", and refined with "Search recent studies published in the last 5 years on mouse models".
I used the output to create Table 2, and modified the output with information obtained from library databases that is detailed in the discussion sections.
