Introduction of F(x)^ Cat Society
国际交流协会是集学院国际化英语能力提升、留学发展项目、爱尔兰文化活动及多元实践活动于一体，由学院师生共同参与的院级社团组织。社团不仅为同学们提供一个提升英语能力和交流互动的平台，营造学院国际化的氛围，还为同学们提供特色化的留学咨询平台，以方便学生了解留学相关资讯、特色留学项目及国际交流计划，助力学生提升留学申请竞争力，是学院独具特色的学生组织。
F(x)^ Cat Society is a college level organization that integrates international English proficiency enhancement, study abroad programs, Irish cultural activities, and diverse practical activities. We wish to advertise the Irish culture to all the students through various activities and enhance the multicultural atmosphere. Also, we aim to help students with English studies and promote international communication. As the distinctive student organization of the college, we provide a specialized study abroad consulting platform for students, making it convenient for students to access information about studying abroad, unique study abroad programs, and international exchange plans, and to assist students in enhancing their competitiveness in study abroad applications.
国际交流协会诞生于2022年5月，并于2023年2月21日在爱尔兰大使（H.E. Ann Derwin）和长安大学沙校长的见证下正式揭幕。协会又名为F(x)^ Cat Society，整体以函数形式呈现长安都柏林国际交通学院的工科特点，CAT三个字母则来源于长安都柏林国际交通学院的三个专业的英文首字母，同时引入以猫为原型的社团吉祥物。字母F蕴含着学院对我们的期望：be first class, be fearless, be forward and have a bright future......作为社员的我们就是自变量x，在学院和社团的培养下不断进步，成为更好的自己，^是Cat的n次方，表明三个专业&社员的无限可能F(x)^ Cat！
Born in May 2022, under the witness of the Irish ambassador Ann Derwin and the Chang’an Univeristy’s president Aimin Sha, F(x)^ Cat Society was officially and honorably unveiled on 21st Feb, 2023. We named our society, F(x) ^CAT, the function is used to echo CDIC’s scientific attribute. At the same time, the letter F represents many fair connotations that we want to achieve, such as we are family, we have a bright future, we focus on what we do, we are fearless, we are always forward and we want to make our society and college to the first-class level. We, students, are the independent variable X, our college is the function, the carrier that supports us to fly higher and higher. Finally, the three letters, CAT, are the initials of the CDIC’s three majors that all the society members are from.

二、协会组织架构 Society Structure
国际交流协会下分留学规划部，新媒体部和活动组织部。
The F(x)^Cat Society includes the Study Abroad Planning Department, the New Media Department and the Activity Organization Department.
（一）留学规划部：是国际交流协会最具特色的部门，主要负责留学策划及留学院校库的整理制册和留学知识的普及，帮助有留学意向的同学进行过渡，协助开展留学讲座以及”一对一“留学咨询，让同学们对出国留学有更广泛的了解，在“内卷”时代下为自己开辟一条新的求学路。通过各种讲座、经验分享会等活动，帮助同学们更好地了解留学申请流程、准备材料、选择学校等信息。特色亮点工作：开展师生服务大厅免费留学咨询，定期高质量发布“CDIC手把手硕士申请教程系列”推送等。
The Studying Abroad Planning Department It is the most distinctive department of the International Exchange Association, mainly responsible for the study abroad planning, the collating of the library of overseas universities and the popularization of overseas study knowledge, helping students with the intention of studying abroad to make the transition, assisting in the study abroad lectures and "one-to-one" study abroad consultation, so that students have a broader understanding of studying abroad and open up a new study road for themselves in the era of "internal study". Various lectures, experience sharing sessions and other activities will help students better understand the application process, prepare materials, and choose schools
Highlights: Free study abroad consultation service, "CDIC International Master's Application Tutorial Series" and other studying abroad related activities.
（二）新媒体部：主要负责网络宣传工作，此前拍摄过毕业生访谈及外方教师采访，通过新闻稿与图片视频的拍摄剪辑，来向同学们传达学院国际交流的最新动态及学院风采。特色亮点工作：定期高质量发布“怦然心动爱尔兰系列”、“毕业生访谈”推送等。
The New Media Department is responsible for online publicity. Previously, they filmed graduate interviews and international teachers' Q&A. Through the press advertisement, video shooting, and public website operation, students could be acknowledged of the college activities and information in time.
Highlights: "Exploring Ireland Series" and "Graduate Interviews".
（三）活动组织部：主要负责策划和组织国际交流协会举办的各种活动，为新生提供丰富的英文研讨会、爱尔兰文化活动、雅思模拟考试等特色活动的组织参与机会，提升英语口语水平与国际化视野。
The Activity Organization Department is mainly responsible for planning and organizing various society events, such as English seminars, Irish Cultural week, IELTS mock test and other special activities to enhance students’ English skills and international perspective.

国际交流协会（F(x)^ Cat Society）学院国际交流协会的吉祥物是带着学士帽的函数猫，耳朵上F（X）的标志代表了社团，额头上的三叶草代表的爱尔兰元素，也表明了我们社团国际化的特殊意义。
Our society mascot is this cute kitten with the trencher cap. The Irish element such as the Irish clover on the forehead is embedded in it to signalize our society’s special parts.
四、社团活动Society Activities
（一）留学咨询：协会采用多种形式包括留学咨询讲座，座谈会，留学沙龙等，整理分析数据制定出适用于CDICer的专属留学资料，使同学们更全面、更便捷的探索未来发展方向并制定个人规划方案；
Study Abroad Consultation: The society adopts a variety of forms including study abroad lectures, seminars, study abroad salons, etc, to collate and analyse data to develop the most suitable study abroad materials for CDICers, so that students can explore their future direction more comprehensively and conveniently and make personal planning plans.

（一）英语研讨会：以“在学中玩”为初心，英语研讨会将无数同学聚在一起，以丰富多样的游戏形式，自由选择讨论话题，畅所欲言，锻炼英语口语交流能力。
English Seminar: Aiming at "playing while learning", the English Seminar brings together the students where they are free to choose their own discussion topics and practice their English speaking and communication skills.

（二）特色活动与推文：社团定期开展和发布各式各样的趣味活动与推文，包括中爱文化海报大赛、怦然心动爱尔兰系列和海外名校申请指南等你参与！
Featured activities and posts: The club regularly organizes and releases various fun activities and tweets, including the China Ireland Cultural Poster Competition, the Heartbeat Ireland series, and the Overseas University Application Guide for you to participate in.

（一）社团成员拥有学院免费雅思班优先录取资格；
Society members have priority admission to the CDIC free IELTS courses.
（二）根据活动内容及等级，经国际交流中心评定，社员参加各类社团活动可获得由学院出具的官方证书；
Depending on the content and level of activities, members will receive the official certificates issued by the college after being assessed by the Office of International Exchange for their participation in various society activities.
（三）参加社团组织活动可获得相应的校青春长大学分；
Participation in society activities will be rewarded with the corresponding credits.
