Exploring the Past and Present of the Silk Road - Reflections on "From Rome to Chang'an"

Hello everyone. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to make a speech here. Today I’m going to talk about Exploring the Past and Present of the Ancient "Silk Road".
大家好，非常荣幸有机会在这里演讲，今天我将谈谈探索古代“丝绸之路”的过去和现在。
In 139 BC Zhang Qian set off from Chang’an. During the trip, he met with a lot of problems and dangers. He was even caught by the enemy of the Han, but he always had a strong belief that he would find the Yuezhi people and return to his motherland. In 126 BC, Zhang Qian managed to go back to Chang’an.
公元前 139 年，张骞从长安出发。旅途中，他遇到了许多困难和危险。但他始终坚信自己一定能找到月氏人，回到祖国。公元前 126 年，张骞成功回到长安。
Today Zhang Qian's travels are associated with the major route of transcontinental trade, the Silk Road.
如今，张骞的旅行与横贯大陆的主要贸易路线--丝绸之路联系在一起。
Zhang Qian is know as a great diplomat and explorer, “the pioneer of the Silk Road” and “the first Chinese to open his eyes to the world”.
张骞被誉为伟大的外交家、探险家，是“丝绸之路的开拓者”和“第一个睁开眼睛看世界的中国人。”
As we know,the Silk Road,also called the overland Silk Road,which was a crucial trade and culture exchange route connecting the East and West in ancient times.
我们知道，丝绸之路，也被称为陆路丝绸之路，是古代连接东西方的重要贸易和文化交流路线。
Although the Silk Road gradually declined through historical changes, in 2013, President Xi proposed the "Belt and Road" initiative, giving new life to the ancient Silk Road.
虽然丝绸之路在历史变迁中逐渐衰落，但是习总书记在2013年，提出了“一带一路”的合作倡议，赋予了古丝绸之路重生的意义。
Ten years have passed, the "Belt and Road" initiative continues.As the core area ,Fujian has also actively participated in it.
十年过去了，“一带一路”倡议仍在继续。福建作为核心区，也积极参与其中。
For example, my hometown, Yong'an—the "Bamboo Town," it has set up a bamboo culture experience center in Jordan, which not only spreads the bamboo culture of my hometown, but also promotes the development of the bamboo industry in my hometown.
永安在约旦建立了竹文化体验中心，不仅传播了家乡的竹文化，也促进了家乡竹产业的发展。
I believe that in the future, more and more cultures and industries in my hometown can go to the world with the help of the Belt and Road Initiative.
我相信，在未来，在一带一路倡议的帮助下，我的家乡可以有越来越多的文化和产业走向世界。
As a pupil, I want to study English well, and try to learn more foreign languages if possible.I hope that one day, I can help with the "Belt and Road Initiative" and make friends with people from other countries. let my growing foreign language skills become my path to have a look at a bigger world.Do anything that I can to create and experience miracles.
