✨ NEW Food Tour (New Location) ✨
Not far from the bund are those lane houses and humble local shops that make you feel like you're getting to know the "real" Shanghai.
During this breakfast tour,
we will wander through the streets
between the Bund and People's Square
to glimpse into daily scenes of local life
in these soon-to-disappear Shikumen.
Along the way, we will taste
the authentic flavors of Shanghai's breakfast
including Shengjian, Xiaolongbao, Jianbing, soup dumplings, baozi, and more.
All well selected local shops run & operated by locals for decade, where you will have a chance to get to chat with them a bit about their daily routine as well as their life and dreams live in this big city.
We will then head to

Introduction
In the heart of Shanghai, nestled between the bustling glamour of the Bund and the vibrant People's Square, lies a world that offers a strong contrast to the modern metropolis that surrounds it.
Lilong
Lilong is a type of residential community or neighborhood composed of long rows of Shikumen houses, rowhouses, or apartment buildings. These houses often have a stone gateway leading into interconnected courtyards with residences. They are a symbol of traditional Shanghai living and are becoming increasingly rare as the city modernizes.
During our tour, we'll have the opportunity to observe the authentic local life. Residents going about their routines, washing clothes or vegetables in communal areas, hanging their laundry between the houses, and even getting haircuts at makeshift outdoor hairdressers. It's a captivating experience to witness the coexistence of old traditions and contemporary life within the same neighborhood.
Authentic breakfast
Let's taste the authentic flavors of Shanghai's breakfast! From the crisp and savory jianbing to the delicate and flavorful soup dumplings, the steamed baozi, and the comforting noodle soup, our culinary journey will introduce you to the city's culinary heritage.
People's Square
You've most likely heard about People's Square but did you know about its intriguing matchmaking corner? This traditional gathering spot is where parents and grandparents come to find suitable partners for their unmarried children.
They display the information (such as age, height, weight, profession, education...) on sheets of paper, which are often attached to umbrellas or other easily visible spots in the hope of finding potential matches. Dates are then arranged through friendly negotiations.
