1.The benefit of a mini fragment plate over a blocking screw is that it can be tough to place blocking screws if there is comminution. But the downside of the plate is the added incision and potential wound complications in this area.
2.Don’t forget to always assess the knee at the end of the case! At the end of this case there was gross instability of the medial and lateral sides, consistent with MCL and LCL injuries. Knee ligament reconstruction was done the next day. Patient can be weightbearing as tolerated immediately after the procedure.
