China Central Radio and Television Tower (CCTV Tower for short) :Construction began in January 1987. The CCTV Tower reaches 1,268 feet (386.5 meters) tall and 1,329 feet if the lightning rod is counted in.

Inside it, visitors can visit the revolving restaurant, indoor viewing hall, open-air sightseeing platform, and Liuyun (white cloud) Hall, each on different floors.

The revolving restaurant on the eighteenth floor can admit 250 people and features Chinese and Western-style buffets. It takes 80 minutes to make a full rotation. Visitors can enjoy the cuisine while viewing the city sights. The indoor viewing hall is on the nineteenth floor. The highest post office in Beijing is in this hall. You can buy postcards from the office and mail them with the postmark of the in-the-air post office. The open-air sightseeing platform on the twenty-second floor is 238 meters (781 feet) above the ground, and is believed to be the biggest one of its kind all over the world. Chang'an Avenue, the Summer Palace, and other places can be seen clearly from the platform. 

Under the CCTV Tower, there is the Pacific Underwater World, which consists of many different zones for visitors to have different experiences. You can know more about the endangered Humboldt Penguins, and watch the jellyfish drifting around. Enjoying the lovely view of divers swimming with the marine creatures along the undersea tunnel will give you a totally different experience. If you are lucky enough, you may encounter some beautiful mermaids dancing around

Undersea Tunnel

The Undersea Tunnel is the main section of the aquarium. It is about 87 yards (80 meters) long. Carried along on a conveyer belt, visitors can concentrate on the beautiful underwater world without walking. The whole tunnel is made of transparent acrylic material. The colorful coral formations and rare sea fish are all around you. The landscapes in the water are very gorgeous as well. They are constructed as replicas of an ancient Mediterranean city. Around the constructions, there are many reminders of ancient civilizations, such as fine china, magnificent pillars and statues.

Penguin Enclosure

There are over 20 Humboldt Penguins living in Beijing Pacific Underwater World. They look very special. There are some ribbon pattern stripes on their face and chest making them lovely and unique. This species is distributed around the Peruvian and Chilean islands. Because of the destruction of their habitats by human activities, the Humboldt Penguins have become an endangered species in the world. With the elaborate care from scientists, the penguins have already adapted to life in the aquarium and propagated their next generation.

Jellyfish Enclosure

Walking in the jellyfish enclosure is like staying in a world of fantasy. With clever use of illumination, the jellyfish turn into the spirits of the water drifting and shining. There are more than 20 kinds of jellyfish displayed in the aquarium: the Australia spotted jellyfish, the Pacific jellyfish, and the Papua jellyfish and so on.

Seal Pool

There are two lovely and lively seals, Doudou and Benben, living in the seal pool. These two adorable creatures will put on an interesting show for visitors. Following the instructions of the keepers, they perform different actions in tandem. For example: welcoming, circling, backstroke, balancing a ball on the nose, saving people, pulling the boat and kissing the keepers. Children may have a chance of sitting on a boat pulled around the pool by the seals.

Dancing with the Sharks

In order to let the visitors enjoy the scene of divers and fish swimming together, the aquarium set up a specific area. In this area, the divers are surrounded by groups of small fish. The most exiting performance is divers swimming with sharks.

Mermaid Dancing

You can see the beautiful mermaids dancing gracefully to the lovely music. The mermaids are all played by the synchronized diving players. Their charming postures are stunning and quite unforgettable.

Touching Pool

If you want to have an intimated contact with the sea creatures, there is a touching pool in Pacific Underwater World built for people to touch the lovely creatures. Animals in the pool are carefully selected. They are all nontoxic. The staff will teach the visitors the proper way to do it
