Chongqing is the largest municipality in southwest China. It is a modern port city on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. 

Known as the 'Mountain City', it has a wavy terrain and encompasses a wealth of water reserves, mineral resources, dense forests, and abundant flora and fauna.

ITINERARY

 Arrival in Chongqing

Welcome to Chongqing! Check-in procedures will be finished under the help of your guide.

 - DAY.1 - 

 Dazu Rock Carvings

Today we will visit Dazu Rock Carvings.

The steep hillsides of the Dazu area contain an exceptional series of rock carvings dating from the 9th to the 13th century. They are remarkable for their aesthetic quality, their rich diversity of subject matter, both secular and religious, and the light that they shed on everyday life in China during this period. Among the rock carvings, there are more than 50,000 statues and over 100,000 Chinese characters of inscriptions and epigraphs. They provide outstanding evidence of the harmonious synthesis of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.

 - DAY.2 - 

 Chongqing：Chongqing Metro Line &People’s Liberation Monument&Hongya Cave (Hongyadong)

Morning:

This morning we enjoy our time in Chongqing.  You will be taken to Chongqing city for a further exploration in Liziba Light Rail Station,and take the metro to experience the magical scene of the light rail passing through the buildings and gully and flying in the air. When you get out of the Station, you will find the most beautiful road in Chongqing-Zhongshan 4th Road. There are many historical relics along the road. Many movies were also shot here. 

Afternoon:

After lunch, we will go to Crown Escalator: it is one of Chongqing's characteristic traffic. The total length is 112 meters, and the whole journey runs for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. It is the second longest one-stage escalator in Asia.

Afterwards, we will visit Jiefangbei（People’s Liberation Monument）. Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street is one of the famous commercial streets in China, centered on the Monument of Victory in the War of Resistance.

Later we will go to Hongyadong, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery and enjoy food. 

In the evening:

 - DAY.3 - 

 Yangtze River Cableway & Ci Qi Kou Ancient Village

In the morning ,we will visit Yangtze River Cableway.When the Chongqing Changjiang (Yangtze River) Cableway first The cableway across the Yangtze River was put into operation in 1987 to increase the efficiency of transport between the Yuzhong and Nan'an districts in Chongqing without building expensive new bridges. With a span of 1,166 meters (3800 feet).The cableway is mainly used by the local population for inexpensive travel to Jiefangbai CBD, but tourists also enjoy the beautiful scenery that can be taken in while crossing the Yangtze River. 

After that, we will go to Ci Qi Kou Ancient Village. As the other must-see of your Chongqing day tour, the village is a bustling and lively commercial area clustered with food vendors, artwork shops and tea houses. Well-preserved architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasties are lined on both sides of the alleys. 

In the evening:

At the end of your Chongqing day trip, our driver will bring you to airport where we disband and head for home with unforgettable memory.

Dazu Rock Carvings of Chengdu City is renowned as a large rock carvings group of three Chinese religious beliefs including Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Located in the north of Dazu County, 120 kilometers away from the Chongqing City, the carvings can trace back to A.D.892 during late Tang Dynasty (618-907) and were finally completed in 1162, which is more than 250 years later during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). With more than 50,000 statues and 100,000 inscriptions in 75 protected sites, these rock carvings gain the fame as “the pearls of oriental art” and are rewarded as World Heritage Site by UNESCO on December.1st, 1999. Baodingshan and Beishan, which are the most well-known and popular sites, attracts some 1,000,000 visitors each year for the marvelous carvings skills, magnificent scales, various religious themes, and lifelike statues. As one of spectacular grotto arts, Dazu Rock Carvings are on a par with Mogao Caves, Longmen Grottoes and Yungang Grottoes in China.

Ci Qi Kou (Porcelain Village) is a folk village with a far-reaching history of more than 1,000 years. Well-preserved architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasties are lined on both sides of the alleys. While you are roaming along the narrow lanes, dazzling snack vendors, craftwork shops and tea houses showcase a lively scene. For delicacy hunters, they should not miss the chance to taste the famous Chen's Mahua (Chinese fried dough twist). Alternatively, enjoying a cup of tea at a local tea house is also a nice choice.

Hongya Cave has a history of over 2,300 years. It was a military fortress from the ancient Ba State (1046 B.C. - 256 B.C) to the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911), and was also the site of the earliest and most developed pier of ancient China. The site now houses a large-scale stilt house complex built alongside a steep cliff on the bank of Jialing River. It has become a popular destination for visitors to experience Bayu culture - a Chinese ethnic culture, gaze over the river, and taste delicious food. The stunning night view is a highlight and should not be missed.

Hongyadong is an 11-storey, 75 meters (245 feet) stilt house abutting a steep cliff. It is popular with tourists because it has a similar appearance to a building in Spirited Away - a masterpiece of a famous Japanese cartoonist, Hayao Miyazaki. It is incredible that the 1st floor and the 11th floor are accessible by two different roads. Visitors can take an elevator to each level where various bars, café and restaurants are arranged. Visitors can also see the symbolic Hongya Dripping on the 2nd floor, which is a small waterfall cascading down the cliff-face. It is regarded as one of the 12 Bayu Sites.

Located at the intersectionof Minzu Road, Minquan Road and Zourong Road in the center of Chongqing city, the People’s Liberation Monument, locally called Jiefangbei, is the only monument to commemorate the Chinese people’s victory in the Sino-Japanese War, a witness of Chongqing and China’s changes in half a century and a landmark of today’s Chongqing. The pedestrian street built around Jiefangbeihas developed into the most prosperous business area in Chongqing, commonly known as Jiefangbei CBD.

Located in the center of downtown Chongqing, Jiefangbei CBD is the busiest and most prosperous business district in West China. The whole pedestrian street, taking an area of 36,000m2 (approximately 43,055 sq yd), centers on the People's Liberation Monument, or Jiefangbei in Chinese and includes Minquan Road, Minzu Road and Zourong Road. It's now a must-go destination for tourists to Chongqing, where one can enjoy shopping and various delicious foods.
