Recently, in a significant step towards fostering practical learning and industry-academia collaboration, four students from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), accompanied by a faculty member, commenced their internship at the 720MW Karot Hydropower Project under the aegis of China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Ltd (CSAIL). This initiative is a part of the ongoing partnership between CSAIL and NUST, designed to enhance technical knowledge and hands-on experience for future engineers and professionals.
The internship program comes as a result of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between CSAIL and NUST, aimed at developing a robust platform for knowledge sharing, research, and development and the Internship program is an important step in this collaboration. This collaboration serves to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial applications, particularly in the field of renewable energy and hydropower, sectors critical to Pakistan's sustainable energy future.
The Karot Hydropower Project, one of the flagship initiatives of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), provides the perfect environment for the students to gain practical exposure to cutting-edge technology and project management practices. The project is a vital source of renewable energy for Pakistan, contributing to the country’s energy security and environmental sustainability.
