Hello everyone, I’m doing PhD👩🏻🎓 in the field of Management science and engineering in Beijing and it’s been 5 years now in China.
What is your social circle like in China? Have you adjusted to life in Beijing?
My social circle in China mainly consists of my classmates. We often organize various activities, such as dining together, traveling, and attending academic lectures. At the same time, I also keep in touch with my friends in Pakistan, sharing our learning and life experiences. I also look forward to meeting new friends in Beijing and exploring this beautiful city together.
I have adjusted very well, especially to the food in China. Chinese cuisine is diverse, with many delicious halal options, such as halal Peking duck and halal beef noodles. I also enjoy trying various Chinese dishes, especially spicy cuisine.
What have your travel experiences been like in China?
My travel experiences in China have been unforgettable. I have visited many famous attractions, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. China's natural beauty and cultural heritage are breathtaking. I have also participated in cultural exchange activities, interacting with local people and learning about Chinese culture.
What made you want to become part of our community?
I’m very happy and thrilled to be part of this group to know more about different peoples, languages and cultures.
So Sue Alperin said, "even when we interact daily with people of other ethnic groups, we rarely talk about racial issues. It seems too scary to people. But we must start doing it! We have to break down the barriers between us and talk openly, honestly, and with respect. The rewards far outweigh any concerns we may have."
