On November 1, the Joint Council of the International Cooperation Center and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative Office in China held a joint conference on the "World Economic Outlook 2024" in Beijing. Steven Alan Barnett, IMF senior resident representative in China, said in an exclusive interview with CGTN that China is estimated to be the largest contributor to global growth this year, accounting for approximately 28 percent of global economic growth. The IMF predicts that global growth is expected to be steady at 3.2 percent in 2024 and remain at that level in 2025, and "we can do better" by strengthening international cooperation.
