Kiwese 很高兴宣布新西兰乐队 BIRDPARTY 和 Vera Ellen 将于今年10月11日到31日与 Kaishandao一同在中国进行巡演。此次12城16场巡演将与两位DJ - Ludus，Rizzo，还有特别嘉宾 Womans Work和Dawn Diver 联手，走遍中国一些最令人兴奋的后疫情时代地下现场、俱乐部和音乐空间。

回中国后，我在Ins上发给 Ludus说“来中国吧”的消息收到了她热情高涨的“好啊！” 于是， CHINA TOUR 的邮件论坛就此诞生，我们的计划也开始了。与此同时，我收到了刚刚获得 Taite 音乐奖（相当于新西兰的年度专辑）的Vera Ellen 的消息，她也有意在十月期间来中国巡演。莫不是冥冥中的安排？

经过讨论，我们决定合而为一，共同策划并实现这次盛大的联合巡演！

我与来自 Pōneke（惠灵顿）的创作歌手兼乐队主唱Vera Ellen 是通过我的老朋友、多才多艺的制作人和音乐人 Ben Lemi 介绍而相识的。在 Nest Fest 音乐节上，她把自己美丽的蓝色吉他借给了我，让我得以在那场倾盆大雨中继续演出，而她的乐队也在新西兰观众面前献上了一场明亮且充满活力的表演。

我在 Camp A Low Hum 再次观看了她们的现场 —— 这回，观众把 Renegade 帐篷挤得水泄不通，我对她们的喜爱更加深了。

这是五年来我第一次以 Kiwese 厂牌的身份主持新西兰艺人的中国巡演（上一次是 2019 年的 Womb + Strange Stains）。除了显而易见的疫情原因，我也一直在与自己的心理健康状况、倦怠感和缺乏动力作斗争（Kiwese基本上像一只沉睡了好几年的卡比兽）。

这次新西兰回归之行向我注入了全新的力量与能量。在 Camp A Low Hum 当中，我重新找回了对现场音乐和由音乐联结的社群的热爱。所以我决定整理心情，再次出发！

我非常自豪地宣布这次巡演，向大家展示我十分钦佩的乐队。能够将这些来自新西兰的优秀音乐人带到中国演出，我感到无比荣幸。我迫不及待地想让大家来到现场感受他们的音乐。演出见！

I had the pleasure of seeing both bands play multiple times over the summer and fell in love with their sound, vibe, energy.

In January, Emma (a.k.a. Ludus) and Will from BIRDPARTY hosted me at their lovely home in Whanganui for a killer show at Porridge Watson with Alphabethead on the Homeland tour.

We met up again at Camp A Low Hum where they obliterated the Lagoon Stage to a roaring crowd. Cogs and neurons began firing, a killer power duo, this would go hard in China, the seed was planted…

Back in China, my DM to Ludus of “come China,” was met with “YEAH!!!”, which turned into an email thread and plans. Around this time, I got a message from Vera Ellen about touring in October. Cosmic or what? As such, we have pooled our energies into this one mega tour!

Vera lent me her beautiful blue guitar at Nest Fest, introduced by old friend, producer, and multi-talented musician Ben Lemi. I caught them again at Camp, where they packed out the Renegade with a killer set, which further deepened my fandom.

This is the first Kiwese China Tour in five years (the last being Womb + Strange Stains 2019). Aside from the obvious pandemic, I’d been struggling with mental health, burnout and lack of motivation for some time (Kiwese was basically a dormant Snorlax for 4+ years).

Empowered and energized by my trip home to New Zealand, and reconnected with my love of live music and community at Camp A Low Hum, I decided to give this thing another go!

I am excited to announce these artists are coming to China and I can’t wait for you to hear them live.

来自新西兰的 BIRDPARTY 是极端金属音乐人 William Barrett (Heresiarch) 和环境电子舞曲制作人 Emma Bernard (Ludus) 的奇异组合。该组合运用基于采样的纹理、迷幻的人声和鼓声，为富有探险精神的听众打造出火花四射、妙趣横生的科幻原声。

BIRDPARTY的现场演出无法定义且不容错过。他们探索着氛围与喧嚣之间的领域，创造出一种宣泄性、噪音化、电影般的成品。

自2023年诞生以来，BIRDPARTY已经成为新西兰最令人兴奋的新兴现场演出团体之一，在 Twisted Frequency、Newtown Festival、Camp A Low Hum 和 Welcome to Nowhere 等音乐节和惠灵顿市立画廊上吸引了众多观众。

该乐队是 Aotearoa Artists in Solidarity with Palestine (AASP) 联盟的一员，并在去年为TAUTOKO GAZA 筹款音乐合辑贡献了创作。他们计划于2024年发布首张专辑，随后则将在新西兰和中国进行巡演。这将是他们第一次出国表演。

BIRDPARTY is the unlikely merging of extreme metal musician William Barrett (Heresiarch) and ambient/electronic dance producer Emma Bernard (Ludus).

Constructed with sample-based textures, trippy vocals and drums, the duo build scintillating sci-fi soundtracks for the adventurous listener...

Undefinable to conventional genre, BIRDPARTY’s live show explores the realms between ambience and uproar — delivering a cathartically noisy spread of cinematic semi-industrial goods & services.

BIRDPARTY are based in Whanganui, where they live with their cat Sweetybub.

Vera Ellen is an expert when it comes to concise songwriting; every note and beat is exactly the required dose. Her albums are full of hooked-to-the-brim melodies, and guided by Vera’s clear, confident, and relaxed vocal presence.

First emerged playing in bands Maple Syrup and Sweater. After relocating to Los Angeles, she started the band Girl Friday, whose music debuted on indie giant Sub Pop’s sub-label, Hardly Art.

Since returning to New Zealand, Vera Ellen has released <It’s Your Birthday> and <Ideal Home Noise> on Flying Nun Records, winning Best Alternative Artist at the Aotearoa Music Awards, as well as the Taite Music Prize.

Vera is generally either recording, touring, rehearsing, writing, drawing, hanging, working at a record shop in Wellington, or a combination in flight.

Kaishandao (Mandarin for ‘machete’) is a musician and organizer from Wellington, who has been based in Chengdu for the past decade.

A talisman of the Chengdu music scene, Kaishandao is constantly in motion. Whether it's button-mashing at cdcr.live, touring weird bands with Kiwese, or clocking up hours front left — her infectious energy has culminated into a refreshing sound of her own—born in the moshpit, reared in the club.
