The legend of Golden Mask Dynasty
The Golden Mask Dynasty Show tells a romantic story through eight chapters: war, farming, forging of metal, ceremonies, the moon, floods, fetes and illusions.
In ancient China, there were two kingdoms during the same period. One was known as Golden Mask Dynasty, and the other was Blue Mask Dynasty. War broke out between the two kingdoms when Blue Mask Dynasty invaded. The Golden Mask Dynasty won the war and captured the warriors of the Blue Mask Dynasty. With wisdom, tolerance, trust and boundless love, the queen who wore a golden mask created a prosperous dynasty.
Because of boundless love, the queen decided to liberate all slaves captured in the war. As a result, the freed slaves had the right to marry women in the Golden Mask Dynasty. The society was full of harmony. And the Golden Mask Dynasty was more prosperous than ever before.
However, because of an unforeseen catastrophe the queen of the Golden Mask Dynasty sacrificed herself for the peace of the homeland. After the catastrophe, the survivors rebuilt with a thankful heart.
The play has 20 different dance scenes, ranging from war scenes to romance. The director invited composers Liu Gangbao and Li Cangsang to compose the music jointly. Composer Zhang Qianyi, who wrote the “Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,” composed the theme song “The Words of Love” for the Golden Mask Dynasty, and vocalist Tang Jing sang the song. The play’s wardrobe designers were inspired by the Sanxing Mound relics. They used blue and gold as the play’s main colors, representing yin and yang, men and women, and heaven and earth. They created more than 500 costumes.
The Golden Mask Dynasty, the spectacular show incorporates dancing, acrobatics, some magnificent costumes and one or two surprises. Many symbols of Sanxingdui Culture can be seen in the props. The Golden Mask Dynasty is a life-time experience for the audience.
This theater was specially designed for the large-scale show. Set in The Golden Mask Dynasty (金面王朝), a legendary age in China, the story tells how a queen who wears a golden mask creates a splendid dynasty through wisdom, tolerance, trust and boundless love. In eight acts it tells stories of war, bountiful pastures, the forging of metal, ceremonies, the moon, floods, fetes and illusions. They even produce an amazing real flood on the stage!
