Robots Dance Yangko at 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala
2025年央视春晚《秧Bot》节目亮相
On January 28, 2025, a special performance called YangBOT amazed audiences at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, China's most - watched TV show.Directed by famous filmmaker Zhang Yimou, the show mixed traditional Chinese yangko dance with modern robot technology.
In the performance, humanoid robots(robots shaped like humans) dressed in colorful costumes danced yangko, a joyful folk dance from northern China often seen during festivals.They spun handkerchiefs instantly and formed creative group patterns.These robots were developed by Unitree(宇树科技),a Chinese robotics company.This was not Unitree's first success--in 2021, their robot cows named “Ben Ben”(犇犇) danced as backup for singer Andy Lau.
The robots learned dance moves through AI and used laser navigation to move safely on the uneven stage.Their strong joints (like knees with 360N ·m power) helped them balance perfectly during fast steps.Zhang Yimou
explained, This dance isn't just fun-it shows how technology can bring new life to traditions.”

2025年央视春晚机器人跳起秧歌舞
