Experience: Significant IT industry experience, with at least five years in a technical role within a complex IT infrastructure environment.
Public Cloud Expertise: Knowledge of public cloud infrastructure and understanding of networking components like virtual networks, subnets, IP addressing, routing, security groups, load balancers, and firewalls.
Multi-Cloud & Migration: Experience managing and integrating networks across multiple cloud providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), as well as migrating on-premises networks to cloud environments or between different cloud providers.
Security Best Practices: Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, including network segmentation, encryption, and access control.
Automation & Provisioning: High level experience with provisioning automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Git, Python, and Ansible.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, and Cisco certifications like CCNA or CCNP.
Networking Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalling, micro-segmentation technologies, and network monitoring tools. Experience with software-defined networking overlays (SDN) such as VXLAN EVPN or VMware NSX is a plus.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, including experience with diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
Industry Experience: Experience in a complex, enterprise financial services environment is desirable.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Service Management: Understanding of the ITIL framework, including incident, change, and problem management.
Project Management & DevOps Tools: Familiarity with project management and DevOps tools such as Jira.
