Special issue information:
Overview
Redox stress is central in aging of skin, which is exposed more than other organs to extrinsic but also intrinsic redox stressors. This SI will focus on redox stress as cause and consequence of skin aging. It will highlight the role of redox stress as messenger of exposure to pollution, radiation and xenobiotics, as causative or secondary agent in age related changes of the skin structure and molecular composition. We cover the dynamics of senescent cells in aging and regeneration, the (dys-) regulation of pigmentation the cutaneous immune system and metabolism. We will present novel omics techniques and analytical methods that allow localizing redox events in aging and age-related disease of the skin and present translation of basic science into skin care- or therapeutic concepts.

Free Radical Biology and Medicine的CAR指数
