This summer, I realized I needed to be more proactive about my education and academics, so I applied for this summer camp. I specifically chose this five-week summer camp by Exeter for two reasons. First, as Exeter is a very prestigious and selective school, attending this summer camp would boost my chances. Second, I felt I needed to get a feel for what boarding schools would be like.

As I recently gained interest in subjects like social studies, I decided to choose the classes along those lines. The class I ended up choosing was the classics course, which includes classical languages, mythology, literature, and archeology.

The first week at Exeter was a bit chaotic, as I was still getting accustomed to everything here, and the additional responsibilities I have gained. I suppose I just never fully considered the nuances of living independently. Something else that doesn’t help with the situation is the intense heat, at least relative to Seattle.

After the first week and having calmed down, I’m starting to enjoy the boarding school structure, mostly because I have more time to talk to my friends and just more time in general.
