Many students find it harder to study when they are at university or college than when they were at school. Why is this? What can be done to solve the problem?

大学之后学习比上初中上高中上小学都难，然后是什么解决方案，如果从原因上来说的话，可能从主观难客观的两个角度来说。从客观上来说，这个大学的教育和初高中是完全不一样的，一方面是他培养的是独立思维的能力，就没有什么老师去上课的时候带你，另外一方面呢，他就是培养的是创新性解决问题能力，就是他的问题很多都是开放性的。不是封闭闭口型的，所以说呢，就会给很多人造成难度，从课，从主观上来说呢，这帮小孩儿高中的时候学累了，可能上大学就不好儿学习了，或者是参加很多社团活动，无法平衡学习的工作的。学习和这个玩儿的时间，所以说也就觉得会很难。
One significant reason is the fundamental difference between various educational levels. Primary and secondary education often relies on standardized answers, aiming to identify the brightest students in the most efficient way. In contrast, university education focuses on developing students’ critical thinking skills and fostering innovation, encouraging them to devise independent solutions to complex problems. Consequently, students accustomed to providing fixed answers on exams may struggle when faced with open-ended questions in university assessments. Additionally, professors are not obligated to provide personal feedback and tailored suggestions as teachers in primary and secondary schools typically do. As a result, students who do not proactively seek guidance from professors may find it challenging to adjust their learning strategies.
In order to address this issue, several methods should be implemented. To begin with, university students should engage in study groups where they can collaborate on assignments, share insights, and discuss course materials. By doing so, students can absorb and analyze perspectives that are completely different from their own, which helps develop their critical thinking skills. Additionally, universities could offer workshops on effective study techniques, time management, and note-taking skills that align with the requirements of university-level education, facilitating a smooth transition from traditional learning environments to independent study. Furthermore, mentorship programs that pair students with upperclassmen or faculty can provide personalized guidance and support. Finally, universities should encourage open communication between students and professors, promoting a culture where seeking help is normalized.
In summary, the fundamental differences between various levels of education and the lack of guidance are two key reasons why university students struggle more in their studies compared to their previous experiences. Effective methods to address this issue include fostering open communication between professors, upperclassmen, and students, as well as providing workshops for students facing difficulties. These initiatives can help students become better equipped with the skills needed to navigate university-level learning successfully.
