C-GCAP Version 2024 (EN) Released

1. Background of the regulation revision

Based on the actual car use scenario research of Chinese consumers and the current status of industry development, considering the development needs of Chinese automobiles and the needs of consumers, in order to promote the green development of China's automobile industry and respond to the green and low-carbon call of the country and the government, the C-GCAP assessment program were jointly discussed by industry experts on the basis of the trial version and the C-GCAP (2024 version) program were formulated.


2. Main revisions

Compared with the C-GCAP (trial version), the C-GCAP (2024 version) has the following changes:


A. Health section:

(1) A new secondary indicator, healthy materials, was added, which has two third-level indicators, namely, the content of harmful substances and the lead content accounting;

(2) A new third-level indicator, particulate matter purification, was added to the second-level indicator, interior air, and the evaluation requirements for acrolein were deleted;

(3) A new third-level indicator, electromagnetic protection for special groups, was added to the second-level indicator, electromagnetic protection;

(4) A new test item, purification of harmful gas concentrations in high illumination intensity conditions, was added.


B. Energy efficiency section

(1) A new energy efficiency assessment system for PHEV (including extended-range models) is added, and the energy efficiency of PHEV models is evaluated from the two dimensions of "electricity" and "oil";

(2) The energy efficiency assessment section of fuel vehicles adds the examination of low-temperature scenarios;

(3) The energy efficiency assessment section of pure electric vehicles adds high-temperature scenarios and high-power charging indicators;

(4) The energy efficiency assessment of fuel vehicles adds the additional test item of extreme high-temperature fuel consumption, and the energy efficiency assessment of pure electric vehicles adds the additional test item of extreme low-temperature endurance. PHEV models can choose one of the two additional test items.


C. Low-carbon section

(1) A new carbon emission evaluation system for PHEV (including extended-range models) is added;

(2) The carbon emission evaluation limit of fuel vehicles is adjusted;

(3) The low-carbon assessment of fuel vehicles adds the additional test item of plateau exhaust emissions, and the low-carbon evaluation of pure electric vehicles adds the additional test item of vehicle power low-carbon performance. PHEV models can choose one of the two additional test items.

In case of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the Chinese version shall prevail.
