Manager, Electrical Design
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a hardware development team; Be responsible for the development and implementation of hardware products and the interface with other devices; Develop high-volume products designed for manufacturability; Be responsible for components characterization and selection; Manage the different development phases; Develop documentation and processes to ensure high product quality; Manage and coordinate the hardware activities with our partners and suppliers; Create test requirements documents, define test limits for validating the design to meet functional, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements; Work closely with members from the Mechanical and Firmware/ Software Engineering teams to assure best design trade-offs Perform and lead schematic capture and layout of new designs; Guide testing and certification teams, support products from initial concept through manufacturing bring up and sustaining phase; Work closely with our development partners, including managing their technical assignments.
Skills We’re Excited About
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering Degree is required, Masters preferred; 10+ year experience in hardware development of consumer electronics; Familiar with the design process from concept through board development and system integration; Hands-on experience with bring up and troubleshooting of boards and systems; Experience in development with ARM and Microcontrollers Low cost portable consumer electronics design experience integrating WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, video DSP, low power battery operated systems in a space constrained products; Experience in testing some or all of the following: Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, audio, power management, display interface, I2C, SPI, SDIO, JTAG, UART, I2S, USB. MIPI, HDMI, DP, PCIe and SLVS-EC etc; Understand operation of CMOS Image Sensors is a distinct advantage; In depth understanding of safety EMI and EMC compliance and certification; Design experience with battery charger, low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, power and management methods; Experience in working with US development teams; Ability to work cross functionally, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills; Results and deadline driven; Able to work independently and in a fast paced multitasking environment; Fluent in English and Mandarin.
Staff Sustaining Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities:
Electrical circuit design, PCB layout review, manage and release electrical bill of materials. Participate in, as well as conduct electrical design reviews and collaborate with the cross functional team to accomplish project deliverables. Support sustaining activities for GoPro portfolio of products like camera, accessories and mounts. Analyze, validate, and characterize the hardware design changes; document and execute the proper hardware testing; and release the approved changes through engineering change orders in PLM system. Participate in the qualification of second source component/module with an opportunity for supply continuity, cost reduction. Collaborate with cross functional teams such as mechanical, firmware, document control, Ops and partners etc. during the product change validation and qualification. Participate in troubleshooting, Failure Analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Actions as required. Comprehensive documentation responsibility that may include, but not limited to, generating engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, product validation plans, and test reports.

BsC in electrical engineering, and above or equivalent 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware development and validation in consumer electronics. Experience in designing electrical system with Microprocessor, memories devices, high speed transceivers, WiFi, BT and GNSS devices and PMICs. Eperience in various digital bus architectures and interface such as I2C, USB, I2S, UART, USB, and LVDS signals. Experience in Orcad CIS schematic, Allegro PCB EDA tool. Hands on with electrical lab equipment, including High-Speed scopes, Signal analyzers, TDR, etc. Good knowledge of SMT/assembly and manufacturing processes. Proven ability in analyzing root cause, complex design debugging, and problem solving independently with minimal guidance. Proficient in verbal and written English and Mandarin, and ability to work cross‐functionally along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Results and deadline driven and ability to work independently most of the time with minimal guidance and handling multiple tasks. Ability to travel (domestic and internationally)
Senior Technical Program Manager
Responsibilities:
Project planning including workload and schedule. Drive the creation of new cameras, camera features and accessories supporting the overall product development lifecycle. Build and manage project schedules, dependencies, deliverables and responsibilities with functional managers and team members. Prioritize team deliverables, tasks, and issues; manage change requests against scheduling and resource constraints. Drive and coordinate the cross-functional camera development cycle across product management, EE, ME, Optics, FW, IQ, Audio, QA, compliance, and external vendor/partner teams. Lead regular stakeholder reviews; communicate and present status and issues effectively to all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
Skills We’re Excited About
8+ years consumer electrics development experience. 5+ years hardware/software systems integration experience preferred. Demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple or complex projects with a track record of success, ideally in consumer-facing products. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with embedded systems, wireless technologies, and imaging systems preferred. BS/BA degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Able to work independently with little direction and multi-task in a fast-paced, chaotic environment. Results and deadline driven: must be willing to do what it takes and spend the necessary time to meet deadlines. Excellent analytical skills and an ability to make reasoned decisions with imperfect or ambiguous data. Excellent technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and enjoys working closely with engineers. Takes responsibility, feels a personal stake in the products you ship, values integrity, works for the success of the entire team, constantly looking to improve yourself and your team.
Staff Product Quality Engineer
The Role
Responsibilities:
Serve as Quality & Reliability Engineering lead for products throughout the product development life cycle. Define product validation plans, test methods and criteria in collaboration with cross functional teams. Participate in post product launch efforts and early field failure analysis to establish root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions. Facilitate failure analysis during NPI stages, validate/analyze test data, suggest solutions and make recommendations toward product release. Develop and present management reports highlighting product risks, actions and recommendations. Work independently and with project team members globally to develop and deliver. Product Risk Analysis (DFMEA) and Product Quality Plans (PQP), review manufacturing assessment and qualification, support development of inspection documentation and test methods as they will impact product quality and performance. Achieve GoPro quality standards by utilizing tools and techniques including statistical analysis, SPC, DOE, DFx, and project tracking software (Jira). Evangelize the continuous improvement efforts related to NPI and sustaining processes. Manage and execute EE QA testing. Assist in the planning and execution of thermal related tests.
Skills We’re Stoked About
Ability and will to travel to APAC to work with partners, suppliers and CMs. BSME, MSME preferred. Six sigma experience and is highly desirable. 3-4+ years’ experience in consumer electronics or relevant industries. 2-3+ years’ experience in New Product Introduction environment. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Previous knowledge or experience with design tools / CAD systems. E
xposure and working knowledge of key commodities such as LCD’s, Optical components, batteries, PCBs, molded and machined parts.Effective presentation, project and resource management skills. Demonstrated problem solving and root cause analysis skills. Must be willing to travel.
