Programme Consultant
Location: Ideally Chongqing, but negotiable, including home based
Reporting to: China Country Manager (Chief Representative)
We are seeking one highly experienced professional as Programme Consultant who will be responsible for International Trade/Agriculture/Sustainability related programmes.
Job description
Under the overall supervision of the China Country Manager (Chief Representative), the Programme Consultant will help the China Country Manager (Chief Representative) to mentor the programme staff and plan and implement programmes related to International Trade/Agriculture/Sustainability in China. The Consultant will work often with very small teams and would require frequent travel within China.
Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Programme Consultant would include:
Help the China Country Manager (Chief Representative) to mentor the programme staff
Provide technical support/design strategies for International Trade/ Agriculture/Sustainability
Support and guide for field execution of programmes
Organise programmes training, stakeholder consultations, conferences and workshops etc.
Create and impart knowledge base
Support in setting-up of field demonstrations and technical monitoring and evaluation aspects
Develop resource materials, research papers with scientific base/tools
Liaise with government agencies, universities and departments at national and local levels
Assist and guide for development of new proposals and programs
Promote new technology adoption for extension support at field level
Assist and facilitate for organising different studies and programme assessment
Document on technical as well as sectoral aspects also develop different manuals and training modules etc.
Other tasks assigned by the China Country Manager (Chief Representative)
Profile
Masters/Bachelors in Management/Trade and investment/Social
sciences/Sciences/Agriculture/environmental sciences from recognised universities in China or abroad
The candidate should have at least 10 years of working experience on International Trade/Agriculture/Sustainability related projects
The candidate should have experience of successful proposal development, fund raising and ability to work with log-frames
Experience of project management, partnership management, M&E including financial management as well
Familiarity and understanding of global sustainable debates and issues
