we are offering a PhD position in Arctic climate change at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven, Germany.Arctic cyclones are high-energy weather systems, exerting significant influences on precipitation, air temperature, sea ice and the ocean. Our current understanding of air-ice-ocean interactions during cyclonic events remains limited due to sparse observational data. Previous studies suggest an increasing trend in Arctic cyclone intensity due to climate change. In this project, we will utilise high-resolution climate model simulations to investigate how cyclone-induced impacts on the ocean and sea ice are likely to evolve in a warming climate.Further details on the position, including a description of how to apply, can be found here: https://jobs.awi.de/Vacancies/1757/Description/2This position is part of AWI INSPIRES – AWI's International Science Program for Integrative Research in Earth Systems: https://www.awi.de/en/work-study/jobs/job-offer/inspires.html
