Ph.D. Position Focusing on Land-Climate Interactions at the University of IllinoisThe Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois seeks TWO outstanding applicants to pursue a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences emphasizing land-climate interactions. Successful applicants will receive a research assistantship at the university. The research will be concerned with computational modeling and scientific assessment of the interactions among the earth’s climate, terrestrial ecosystems, including food and energy crops, and land use and land cover changes (LULCC).Applicants should have a strong educational background well-grounded in physics and mathematics. While the scope of the research topic is broad and flexible, we are seeking highly motivated and creative individuals with a strong interest generally in the relationships among climate change science and policy from an earth system science perspective. Applicants must satisfy all other requirements for becoming a graduate student at the University of Illinois in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences.
