半个多月后，2月6日，校方在其官方微信挂出了对此事的调查处理结果：
根据国自然通报，湖北某高校黄飞若的10篇论文存在图片使用混乱、数据篡改、伪造数据等问题，还将部分问题论文列入国自然基金项目申请书、进展/结题报告中。
经国家自然科学基金委员会监督委员会六届三次会议审议，由国家自然科学基金委员会2024年第5次委务会议审定，决定依据《国家自然科学基金项目科研不端行为调查处理办法》第四十七条、第四十条、第四十二条第五项、第四十六条，撤销黄飞若国家自然科学基金项目“组蛋白乙酰化调控Wnt∕β-catenin通路在猪肝脏氨代谢中的作用及机理研究”（批准号31572409）和“PCAF调控丙酮酸代谢在妊娠后期母猪肝脏糖代谢紊乱中的作用机制”（批准号32072742），追回2个项目的已拨资金，取消黄飞若国家自然科学基金项目申请和参与申请资格5年（2024年3月26日至2029年3月25日），给予黄飞若通报批评。
在国自然通报中共贴出了10篇论文，而在举报材料中一共有15篇相关涉嫌造假的论文：
根据举报材料和国自然通知可知，目前在举报的15篇论文中，有两篇已撤回，在国自然查证的涉及国自然课题且存在学术不端行为的论文中，有一篇已撤回。以下是两篇已撤稿论文的撤稿通报：

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief.
The journal was alerted by a reader to suspected misconduct with regards to the current article. The journal Editorial office launched a full investigation into these allegations and has reached out to both the authors and to the institution where the work is said to have been conducted, but no suitable explanation for the concerns has been received. Resultantly, and given the severity of the concerns in question, the Editor in Chief has concluded that it is appropriate to retract the article. The specific allegations for which suitable explanation remains outstanding are as follows:
1.Fig. 1A; Fig. 2H, J, L,M, Q-W; Fig. 5O, and Fig. S1 reported in the manuscript was previously reported in the PhD thesis of first author Tongxin Wang, pertaining to a different experimental model and results, raising questions as to the authenticity of the findings
2. It remains unclear whether or not informed consent was obtained from study participants because the authors have not provided further details, either in the article or in correspondence with the journal since, about the methods used to a) recruit patients to the study or b) to obtain informed consent.
3.Quantification data, reported in the form of bar charts [In Figures 1, 2, 4 and 5] appear irregular and inconsistent for usual data of this kind; however the authors have stated that the associated raw data is no longer available, raising questions as to the data's authenticity
The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
All authors and the institution of the corresponding author have been notified of the retraction of this article.

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editors-in-Chief, following an in-depth internal investigation conducted by the Huazhong Agricultural University where the lead author was employed. Concerns have been raised about the similarities between Figures 1 and 2, and Figures 3C and 4C. Animal Nutrition have sought a response from the authors regarding the allegations and requested them to provide the raw data from which the figures were derived. However there has been no response received to date. Consequently, the Editors, after taking into account of all the evidence including their own investigations, have decided to retract the article.
