“Back to the Wild” Issue Launch & Bird-Watching Photo Recap

文化   2024-09-30 17:00   北京

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for the launch and bird-watching event celebrating our latest issue of The World of Chinese magazine! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

A special thanks to our co-organizer, the Beijing-based nature education startup WildWonder, for guiding the two-hour bird-watching tour. This event was inspired by our new issue, “Back to the Wild.

Despite the cloudy morning and light drizzle, we spotted more than a dozen birds in Chaoyang Park, including the Chinese blackbird, spotted dove, white-cheeked starling, great spotted woodpecker, and grey heron.

According to Zhang Runchao, a guide from WildWonder, there are over 500 bird species in Beijing, primarily migratory ones. On clearer autumn and winter days, people can observe up to 30 species during a typical two-hour tour in Chaoyang Park, the largest urban park in the capital’s downtown Chaoyang district.

We are especially delighted to have several young participants join us with their parents, who impressed us with their enthusiasm and knowledge of birds, nature, and conservation awareness.
