This itinerary will let you discover the beautiful Guangxi province! From the famous Detian waterfall to the less known Mingshi village and the beautiful Yangshuo.

Get ready for some real outdoor actions

bamboo rafting, biking, swimming and chill hike!

Arrival in Nanning > Detian

Enjoy the beautiful hotel & surroundings

Today, the local guide will pick us up from the Nanning airport. You may take any flight arriving before 11h.

We will then hop on our private bus and drive (∼3.5h) to reach Detian. After checking in, we can explore the nice garden and hike to the top of the surrounding hill (30 mins chill hike) and enjoy the sunset view on top. 

In the evening, we can gather for a group dinner (not included) and get to know each other.

Detian

Tongling Grand Canyon & Detian waterfall

After breakfast, we will drive (∼50min) to reach Tongling grand canyon. We will go down following a pretty steep staircase to reach the canyon river bank and explore the waterfalls (∼3h)

Each canyon is a collection of rare natural and cultural landscapes such as ultra-high waterfalls, waterfalls in caves, underground rivers, canyons and streams, and primitive vegetation. 

In the afternoon, we will drive (∼1h) to the famous Detian waterfalls, located near the border between Vietnam and China. The view here is very impressive with waterfalls on top of waterfalls. Stunning!

We will get on a bamboo raft to get a closer look of the waterfall, feel the splash droping on us from everywhere, and we might accidentally cross the Vietnam border, who knows? ;)

Detian > Nanning

Mingshi Village & river bamboo raft cruise

After breakfast, we will drive (∼1.5h) to Mingshi village. It's similar to Yangshuo but much less touristic, a more authentic spot. We will take a bamboo raft (∼40min). Following the river and wind, we'll be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery with karst mountains in the background. 

We will then drive back to Nanning (∼2.5h). And arrive Nanning late afternoon and check in our hotel. 

For those interested, there is some night market/food street in Nanning. Can be a good idea for an evening exploration.

Nanning > Guilin > Longji rice terraces

After breakfast, we will take a high-speed train (∼2.5 h) to Guilin. We will then drive to Longji rice terraces. 

We should arrive at the hotel around 2pm. This afternoon, you can choose to rest at the hotel or go for some chill walks outside of the hotel (optional). 

Stay overnight in Longji in a cute boutique hotel with a view on the mountain and rice terrace.

Longji > Yangshuo

Rice terraces hike 

Today will be an exciting day if you've been looking forward to some real countryside views and to explore what's the local minority's life like. 

We will hike on the 1000m+ highland rice terrace path from where we live to Longji Dazhai village (20 kilometers, ~6 hours). Also known as "the King of rice terraces", this place offers some magnificent sceneries. 

We will probably encounter some Hongyao minority people. They have been living here for generations. Their hair accessories, jewelry, clothing, food, wedding customs, festivals, etc. are all following ancient customs.

After we reach the final destination, after a short rest, we will be picked up by our private bus and drive to Yangshuo.

Yangshuo

Xingping ancient town, Fisherman, Laozhai Mt 

After breakfast, we will be picked up by our private bus to drive 1 hour to the Xingping ancient town.

After walk around the town, We will be delighted to invite an senior fisherman to join us near the river to perform the famous local bird fishing, and we will likely to get some great photos for this symbolic image of China. 

In the afternoon, we will climb up the Laozhai mt (which is much less visited comparing with the overly commercialized Xianggong mt), 40mins one way up, bit challenging but totally worth the effort when you reach the top and see the view. 

Stay in a local nice hotel for the night.

Yangshuo

Moon mountain, biking

Today will be the last day of our trip. 

We will start with a chill biking tour (~2h) through the countryside and along the river. If you feel like it, you may have a quick swim in the river ;)

We will then have a short hike at Moon Mountain. The giant hole in the middle of the peak looks like a moon from far, hence the "moon mt" nickname. It will take ~30/40 mins to get to the top.

In the afternoon, we will drive to the airport. You may take any flight after 17h.

Cancellation fee

- Between booking and 15 days prior to departure: 300rmb 

- Between 15 and 5 days prior to departure: 2000rmb

- Between 4 and 1 days prior to departure: 50% of the price

- On departure day or no-show: 100% of the price

Cancellation Policy // corona virus

If the weather is really bad and represents a risk for people's safety, or there is any government restriction (due to coronavirus for example) we could cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance. The deposit would be fully refunded. Note that we are NOT responsible for flight cancellation fees. This would need to be dealt with the airline company directly. 

All forms of outdoor recreation (including hiking) have a higher level of risk than most ordinary activities.

By participating in M2adventure's hike, you acknowledge and accept the responsibility for making your own determinations as to the suitability of the activity and for their own safety, conduct, and well-being and agrees to participate solely at your own risk.

M2adventure, its organizer & hike leaders will not be held responsible for any loss or injury which you may sustain as a result of your participation in any of these activities.
