Canada Young Professionals League (CYPL) is an organization focused on the career development of young professionals in Canada. Through career skills workshops, league challenges, personalized consulting services, and other projects, we aim to build a member community for young professionals in corporate and academia in Canada, empowering personal growth and career development.

Our core team consists of young key opinion leaders (KOLs) from the corporate and academic fields, with extensive experience in community management, educational consulting, and professional skills training. We are well-versed in various aspects of North American culture, life, and workplaces.

Nowadays, in such a highly interconnected world, no one is an isolated island. Having a strong interpersonal network not only provides valuable resources but also opens countless opportunities. Whether finding a job in North America, exchanging academic information, or seeking personal growth advice, interaction and connection with others are often the keys to success.
At CYPL, we firmly believe that by building and maintaining a diverse community, every member can broaden their horizons, gain new opportunities, and achieve breakthroughs in their career and academic paths. Each connection you make at CYPL is a cornerstone of your future success. We encourage every young professionals studying overseas at Canada to actively join CYPL community, participate in our activities, share knowledge, experiences, and resources, support each other, and grow together!

A few years ago, when I first started my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, I was experiencing a lot of confusion and uncertainty.
As an international student, I yearned to pursue my dream career in Canada but had no idea how to take the first step. The fundamental university courses did not teach the hidden skills needed for career development. As a newcomer of the country as well as the new stage of personal development, I was unsure how to find a lab willing to accept me with zero experience to start my research journey, how to begin an internship in my dream industry with an incomplete skillset, or even how to write an impressing resume or cover letter. I had to learn everything from scratch. The information available online was chaotic and overwhelming, making it difficult to filter and grab the knowledge I need effectively. In my desperation, I even signed up for unreliable job application agencies, wasting a lot of money and time without acquiring any useful skills nor achieving my goals.
After a few years of exploring on my own, I found a career I love and a supportive development platform. I also gained a deeper understanding of education program applications and workplace culture in Canada. Through online and offline interactions with juniors, I gradually realized that my accumulated experience could help more students embark on their career exploration. From course selection , major choices to career direction, they could find a more suitable development path through my shared experiences and apply what they learned to enter relevant fields. I am delighted that my experience sharing can help more individuals avoid some invisible pitfalls, aiding more ambitious young people in taking their first steps in career development in a country that may seem unfamiliar to them. I also hope that these experiences and accumulations can reach more beneficiaries, attracting individuals from different fields with relevant knowledge and providing them with a reliable and safe platform for information communication and sharing.
— With this intention, the other co-funder Lesley and I hit it off, leading to the birth of CYPL (Career Young Professionals Leadership).
We aim to create a people-oriented, diverse, open, and high-quality network for the career development of overseas students in Canada, linking young elites from different industries who are in the early stages of their careers, those who have great ideas, energy and zeal, but lack a reliable "career development guide or role model." At CYPL, you can find industry partners at the same developmental stage, entrepreneurs with business or research goals looking to develop together, or experienced seniors willing to share their knowledge in specific fields. CYPL hopes to connect the strengths of each individual, weaving a powerful network of Canadian contacts and career information to support your career development and achieve long-term personal growth and life-long goals. Joining CYPL is not only an opportunity to enhance skills and make interpersonal connections in the short term but also a long-term investment in personal and career development. Over time, the network and resources gained through CYPL will become an invaluable asset, empowering more goals to be achieved.
With great honor, we announce that this is the inaugural post since the inception of CYPL, symbolizing the official public establishment of the Canada Young Professionals League in July 2024.
