Singapore retailers restock presentation packs, as marketer tackles decline in traditional post-dinner consumption
Kiwifruit company Zespri has reintroduced its award-winning Fruit Pillbox pack concept to retailers in Singapore, as it attempts to boost consumer health and reverse an apparent slump in the country’s tradition of eating fruit after dinner.The pillbox features seven individual compartments, each containing a SunGold kiwifruit, to remind consumers to eat one each day of the weekr.It will be available at major Singapore retailers including FairPrice, Cold Storage, and Giant, as well as online vendors RedMart and FairPrice.According to a survey commissioned by the marketer, having fruit after an evening meal is no longer such a common practice among Singaporeans – almost half of respondents said the tradition had declined in recent years as daily schedules became busier.Zespri’s response is to roll out a promotion called ‘Start Small Add A +1’ and encourage Singaporeans to eat fruit after their evening meal.
