Recently, the Wuhan Passenger Transport Department of the China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group conducted an investigation into the viral video circulating online, which showed "foreign travelers occupying seats and insulting others on a train."
After verification, the claim that "foreign travelers were occupying seats" is not true. The actual situation occurred on June 4, 2024, when two foreign travelers (Moroccan nationals, native Arabic speakers) purchased tickets for seats 90 in car 18 and 59 in car 13 on train K402 from Xuchang Station to Beijing West Station. After boarding, the two wished to sit together, but the language barrier led to a misunderstanding while communicating with passengers in seats 114 and 118 in car 18, resulting in a dispute. The train conductor and police chief promptly arrived to handle the situation, and after understanding the circumstances, they properly arranged for the two foreign travelers to sit together in car 13.
