Snøhetta is a transdisciplinary, dialogue-driven practice including architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, art, product design, graphic and digital design, often integrating a combination of interests across projects. Representing different societies and cultures, Snøhetta has more than 350 employees from 40 nations across nine regional studios spanning from Oslo to New York and San Francisco to Innsbruck, Paris, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen.

Snøhetta的名字来源于挪威中部一座美丽而具有重要历史意义的山脉Snøhetta。没有人真正来自Snøhetta，但每个人都可以在Snøhetta拥有他们各自的独特体验与回忆。Snøhetta的设计实践旨在通过对话与多样性，创造让社会、让世界相互连接的物理空间。

Snøhetta shares the name with a beautiful, remote, and historically important mountain in central Norway. Snøhetta is a place nobody is from, but anyone can experience. Creating places for societies to connect with each other and with the world around them is a primary motivation in Snøhetta's work. Dialogue and diversity empower this approach.

Snøhetta has realized many internationally acclaimed works around the globe since 1989, including Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Alexandria, 1989-2001), Norwegian National Opera and Ballet (Oslo, 2000-2008), Viewpoint Snøhetta (Hjerkinn, 2009-2011), The National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion (New York City, 2004-2014), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (San Francisco, 2010-2016), Lascaux IV (Montignac-Lascaux, 2012-2016), Times Square (New York City, 2010-2017), Under (Lindesnes, 2016-2019), Trælvikosen (Brønnøysund, 2018-2022), Beijing Library (Beijing, 2018-2023), Vertikal Nydalen (Oslo, 2015-2024), Čoarvemátta (Kautokeino/Guovdageaidnu, 2020-2024), Shanghai Grand Opera House (Shanghai, 2017-2025), and among others.

Snøhetta的实践涉及不同的学科、领域、类型与尺度。既有木制鸟屋、姜饼屋和蜂巢等小规模项目，也有在文化、科学和商业领域的不断突破，尺度不一。除了景观、建筑及室内设计实践以外，Snøhetta也设计桌椅、铺面材料和新型环保建筑材料等。Snøhetta的产品、平面及数字设计团队在不断更迭的国际设计语境中推动设计革新。

Snøhetta continues to work within a range of scales and types of work starting from something as small as a wooden birds nest, a gingerbread house or a beehive. Snøhetta works with various types of cultural, science and commercial work from smaller scales to as large as urban master planning. Snøhetta has designed and built tables, chairs, paving and new environmentally sensitive materials for use in construction. Product, graphic and digital design teams regularly receive international acclaim and push the envelope of how to positively transform the world around us through their work.

Snøhetta的工作方式从一开始便以环境和文化敏感性为基础。事务所创立时，世界环境与发展委员会发表了《我们共同的未来》，以可持续发展为基本纲领，划时代地启发了环境保护与人类发展的切实结合。多年来，Snøhetta坚持把设计视为积极的文化力量，将人类和非人类物种的生活空间连接起来，综合考虑到可持续发展材料、正能源和水资源管理、碳排放和废弃物管控。

From the beginning, Snøhetta's approach has been framed by environmental and cultural sensitivity. When Snøhetta began the studio, the Brundtland Commission's UN report on sustainability, Our Common Future, was just published and became an inspiration to build a positive future, unique at the time. Throughout the years, Snøhetta continues to promote design as a positive force in the world. Today, Snøhetta also connects habitat for humans and non-humans alike with other considerations of sustainable materials, positive energy and water resource management, carbon and emissions control, and control of waste.
