THU Campus Rules
Since international students in our department have frequently faced disciplinary actions for unintentionally violating campus rules, we hope to prevent such issues by raising awareness. Below are nine essential Tsinghua University campus rules that are commonly violated, often by accident. Feel free to bookmark and share! 1. Unauthorized Campus Access Reservations
Arranging campus access for non-relatives or non-friends and profiting from it will result in a warning or more severe disciplinary action, depending on the amount involved. Any illicit gains will be confiscated. Severe cases may be reported to the police and respective embassies.
2. Use of Unauthorized Electrical Appliances
in Dormitories
Storing or using unauthorized electrical appliances in dorms, such as hair dryers over 1000W or electric irons, will lead to disciplinary action based on the severity of the violation.
3. Unauthorized Charging or Parking of
Electric Bikes
Charging electric bike batteries in dorms or parking bikes in dormitory areas is prohibited and will lead to appropriate disciplinary action.
4. Property-Related Violations
Theft, extortion, fraud, misappropriation, concealment, destruction, or damage of others’ property will lead to a warning or more severe disciplinary measures.
5. Course Misconduct
Severe plagiarism in coursework, manipulation of experimental data, and other dishonest conduct in academic assignments will result in a warning or higher-level disciplinary action.
6. Unauthorized Release of Misinformation
Posting unapproved or inaccurate information using the university or department’s name online, especially for profit, will result in a record of demerit or more severe disciplinary action.
7. Provoking or Threatening Behavior
Provoking conflicts, providing equipment for fights, intimidation, or maliciously disturbing others’ lives will lead to a warning or higher-level disciplinary measure.
8. Harassment and Misconduct
Engaging in harassment or intentionally disrupting order in dormitories, including through inappropriate behavior or speech, will lead to a warning or more severe disciplinary action.
9. Academic Fraud
Plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsely claiming academic contributions are severe forms of academic fraud and will be addressed with disciplinary measures.
