INTRODUCTION
The universal commitment of international law has long inspired global south countries to view international law as an important arena for arguing global inequalities, while this commitment has been summarized by the concept of “development” as a universal appeal for a particular way of life. The vision of change and equality is increasingly difficult to realize, while international law has legitimized the growing interventions in the third world.
This event will focus on TWAIL, the international law methodology of the global south, presenting the “double engagement” feature of this method, and discussing how this feature enables the method to help scholars clarify the (post)colonialist features of international law, and to push forward efforts to establish a diverse International normative order.
