9月4日至6日，中非合作论坛峰会在北京举行，为中非团结协作带来了新契机。
The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation is being held in Beijing from Sept 4 to 6, marking a new opportunity for cooperation between China and Africa.
浙江省国际传播特聘专家、浙江师范大学非洲研究院院长刘鸿武，受邀参加本次峰会开幕式，ZICC记者对他进行了连线采访。他曾在非洲求学并长期致力于非洲研究与中非民间交流，和非洲有着特殊的情缘。
Liu Hongwu, dean of IASZNU and expert on international communication in Zhejiang, attended the opening ceremony of the Summit. With a unique bond forged through his academic pursuits in Africa and long-term dedication to African studies and exchanges between China and Africa, Liu holds a special affection for the continent.
2023年，刘鸿武在尼日利亚调研期间接受当地媒体《非洲中国经济》（Africa China Economy）专访，文章标题为 Homecoming for the Chinese Lagos boy, Prof. Liu Hongwu （《拉各斯男孩回家——中国教授刘鸿武还乡尼日利亚之旅》）。文中把刘鸿武称为“拉各斯男孩”，文章回顾了他在非洲的求学经历，赞赏刘鸿武为促进中非友谊所作的努力和贡献，评价他为“过去30年间中国与非洲之间的一座桥梁”。
In 2023, during his research trip to Nigeria, Liu was interviewed by the local media outlet Africa China Economy, under the headline "Homecoming for the Chinese Lagos Boy, Prof. Liu Hongwu". The article referred to him as a "Lagos Boy," revisiting his academic journey in Africa and commending his efforts and contributions in fostering China-Africa friendship. He was regarded as "a bridge between China and Africa over the past 30 years."

More than 30 years ago, Liu pursued his master's degree at the University of Lagos in Nigeria. He experienced the warmth of the African people, as well as the unique charm and challenges of the continent. This experience laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors in African studies.
In 2009, Liu was given the “Award for Contributions to China-Africa Friendship” by the Chinese-African People’s Friendship Association (CAPFA) for his remarkable contributions to promoting African studies in China and academic exchanges between China and Africa. Affectionately regarded as “an old friend of the African people”, he was selected as one of the “Top Ten Chinese People Who Touched Africa”.

Liu’s footsteps have traversed over 30 African countries, where he has made many friends among presidents of universities, heads of think tanks, and African ambassadors to China.
