In August 2010, the Shaolin Temple was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site by the UNESCO.

Shaolin Kungfu is a kind of martial arts practiced by monks under the special Buddhist culture of the Shaolin Temple. The Shaolin Kungfu, which is originally practiced by the Buddhist monks whose duties were to protect the temple, has been gradually developed into an art of perfect technology, abundant meanings and high reputation in the whole world after more than 1500 years of development.

2. Changzhu Courtyard

The plaque "少林寺" was inscribed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty; The Shakya ManiHall is the center of activities of the whole temple; The Thousand Buddha Hall is the largest palace building in the temple. The Changzhu Courtyard is a place where the presiding monk and deacon monks worship, meditate, recite scriptures, receive, and carry out large-scale religious activities. It is also a place where the presiding monk and deacon monks reside and handle daily internal and external affairs.

3. Talin
There are currently 232 towers in Tallin, which are various types of tomb towers made of brick, stone, and brick stone mixed structures. Tallin is the tomb of successive monks in Shaolin Temple. The height, size, and number of layers of the pagoda are mainly determined by the monks' level of Buddhist knowledge, prestige, and merit during their lifetime. Tallin is a treasure trove for comprehensive research on ancient brick and stone architecture and carving art, and is also the largest, most numerous, and most valuable group of ancient pagoda buildings in China.

4. Sanhuang Mountain Fastness
The Sanhuang Mountain Fastness is located behind the Talin and an important component of the Songshan World Geopark. It is a natural mountain fastness hanging on the hillside of Shaoshi Mountain. The entire mountain fastness is steep and slippery, with a flat and wide mountaintop. It is famous for its unique peaks, precipitous roads, strange rocks, and beautiful scenery.
