🎉 On the 3rd of November, the International Student Council (ISC) hosted its inaugural gathering, marking a significant milestone in our journey as a community. With every single new member in attendance, the primary objectives of this session were to foster camaraderie among the new faces, and to elucidate the essential regulations that ISC, as an official club within Zhejiang University, must adhere to.
🎁 To kick off the event, each member was presented with a uniquely designed t-shirt adorned with the ISC logo on the front, embodying our commitment to unity amidst diversity. The reverse side featured their motherland's flag, a proud celebration of individual identities within our collective. This thoughtful gesture aimed to underscore our shared sense of belonging while acknowledging our diverse backgrounds.
👥 Participants were deliberately prompted to sit with individuals they hadn't met before, forming small groups of 6-7 members each. This strategic seating arrangement aimed to break barriers and facilitate introductions among those who might not have otherwise interacted.
🗣️ Within these newly formed groups, we embarked on a pivotal discussion centered around the theme “Fostering Community and Cross-Cultural Connections on Campus.” The floor was open for a brainstorming session, where academic and leisure-oriented activity ideas flowed freely. Collaborative thinking thrived as nascent thoughts coalesced into tangible concepts, each contributing to the richness of our upcoming event calendar.
🎮 Following the intellectual exchange, a series of engaging games were organized, infusing a sense of fun and friendly competition into the atmosphere. These activities not only bolstered our sense of community but also deepened the bonds between members through shared laughter and experiences.
🏆 In conclusion, the event was hailed as a resounding success, achieving all its predetermined goals: educating new members about club regulations, fostering strong interpersonal connections, discussing a crucial topic, and enhancing mutual understanding among participants. This inaugural gathering has laid a solid foundation for future endeavors, promising a vibrant and inclusive ISC community at Zhejiang University. 🌟
