QBUS5001 往届纸质考试特点:题量大 时间紧
QBUS5001的纸质考试,计算部分会涉及大量计算器的操作及查表,并且由于题目题干会很长,对英语读题能力有一定的要求。所以考试时间会很紧张,每学期都会有大量同学来不及答完全部题目。
另外,根据这学期的Coordinator的出题风格,概念题的考察会很灵活。因此在复习备考时应侧重理解,不可死记硬背。
QBUS5001 期中考试重点分析
这学期考试范围Week1-5。
Week1介绍了最基本的统计指标及统计学概念。作为整门课的基础,在期中单独出题考察不多,更多的是作为后续内容的铺垫。
Week2主要涉及概率相关的计算。虽然是高中数学内容,但有时出题灵活,容易出现难题。
Week3主要涉及常见的概率分布,以及在各个概率分布下的计算。可以说是期中考试的重中之重,需要大家无盲点掌握!
Week4介绍了抽样相关的概念,以及中心极限定理。这部分单独出题考察并不多,更多的是作为整门课后续内容的基础。
Week5介绍了抽样估计的基本运算,内容抽象,理解难度大。这部分内容不仅是期中考试的重点,也会是期末全部内容的重要基础。

Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland, is one of the tourist must-go attractions. As this theme park is so popular, there is always a queue outside the ticket offices in the morning. The waiting time (in minutes) before getting served by a ticket officer can be modelled by an exponential "E" 𝑥𝑝(𝜆) distribution with 𝜆 = 0.12$500,000
1) Find the probability that a visitor has to wait for more than 15 minutes in a queue in a particular morning.
2) A visitor has been waiting in a queue for 5 minutes. Find the probability that she has to wait for another 5 or more minutes to get served by a ticket officer.
3) At the exit gate of the theme park, 100 visitors are selected at random. Find the probability that 20 or less of them have waited in a queue for more than 15 minutes in the morning. You may use Excel to calculate the exact probability.
