ZWIS News | 粵澳教育交流深化：澳門教師團到訪中黃港澳子弟學校

On August 22nd, With the care and support of the Huangpu District Overseas Chinese Federation, Chairwoman Lin Yinghui led a delegation, accompanied by 52 teachers from Macau Sha Lit Tau Public School guided by the Macau Chinese Education Association, to visit the school. Dr. Li Mei, representative of the ZWIE Group, and Dr. Peggy Zhai, genral principal of ZWIS, warmly received the visitors, and both sides engaged in in-depth interactive exchanges to establish a long-term and stable exchange and mutual visit mechanism.The number of exchange teachers reached 100.

This exchange event aimed to promote the sharing of educational resources between Guangzhou and Macau, enhance teaching quality on both sides, and jointly advance the development of education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Dr. Zhai Peiqi, President of Guangzhou Zhonghuang Hong Kong-Macao Children's School, along with the school's teaching team, warmly welcomed the visiting guests and led them on a tour of the school, introducing in detail the school's educational philosophy and teaching characteristics.

In the subsequent seminar, over 100 teachers were divided into groups for sharing and discussion. They focused on the all-round development of teachers' “body, mind, thought and spirit”, combined with the popular Olympic spirit, and used innovative ways of expression to guide teachers to break through the established thinking from the experiential classroom, to devote themselves to the activities, and to think about the future of education and teaching. This innovative way of communication not only benefited the teachers, but also gave them a deeper understanding of the importance of teaching innovation.

During the seminar, Dr.Peggy Zhai also shared her overseas study experience and insights gained from founding the school from scratch. She mentioned that the school, based in the Greater Bay Area, is committed to providing students with a holistic education that integrates Chinese and Western cultures, with an emphasis on traditional cultural learning. She was delighted to see the exchange and collision of ideas between educators from both schools and expressed her hope for more in-depth discussions and learning opportunities between Guangzhou and Macau in the future.

Mr. Xu Jiangxiong, Deputy Director of the Publications Department of the Macau Chinese Education Association, Deputy Director of the Macau Teachers' Professional Development Association, and Vice President of Macau Sha Lit Tau Public School, also shared his thoughts on the visit. He remarked that at ZWIS, he profoundly experienced the importance of the word "international." The school's unique martial arts and medicine culture, as well as its focus on the 24 Solar Terms, demonstrated its emphasis on cultivating Chinese cultural literacy, which is an integral part of international culture and a crucial link between China and the world. This integration of Chinese culture into international education provides valuable reference and inspiration for Macau education.

Ms Misa Yam, Principal of Tou Fong Ung School in Macau, also shared her feelings. She thought that ZWIS had a lot to learn from them in the details, such as the students would take the initiative to greet the teachers warmly when they met them, and this kind of harmonious and friendly teacher-student relationship is exactly what they are pursuing; in addition, she also saw that there are a lot of commonalities between the two schools, such as the same emphasis on the culture of martial arts, etc. Also,The activity was very lively and the atmosphere was enthusiastic and all the teachers present gained a lot. She lamented that the time was short and looked forward to more in-depth seminars and exchanges between the two schools in the future, so as to jointly explore the development of education in the Bay Area and to establish a long-term and effective mechanism of exchanges.

At the end of the activity, the President of Overseas Compatriot Association of Whampoa, Ms. Lin Yinghui, presented souvenirs to the representative of Chinese Education Association of Macau, Mr. Xu Jiangxiong, the representative of Macau Saratou Fong Public School, Ms. Ren Meisha, the representative of ZWIS, Dr. Zhai Peiqi, and the representative of ZWIE, Dr. Li Mei. At the same time, ZWIS exchanged souvenirs with the Chinese Education Association of Macao and Macau Saritoufong Public School.

The in-depth exchanges between teachers from Guangzhou and Macao not only enhanced mutual understanding and friendship, but also laid a solid foundation for the co-operation and development of both sides in the field of education. In the future, ZWIS will continue to lead the whole-person education in the Greater Bay Area and nurture the next generation of talents for the country, and at the same time, actively strengthen exchanges and co-operation with schools in Macao and other cities in the Greater Bay Area, so as to jointly promote the education cause of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area to a new height.
