The old hunting lodge in the Argus is located in the middle of the dunes of Santpoort. After years of limited maintenance and disrepair, the house was in very poor condition. We have been commissioned by the new owners to restore and expand the old hunting lodge and make it more sustainable.

At the rear and east side, the house has been expanded with an extension that modestly blends in with the existing house. An extra floor has been added underground in the dune, which is provided with sufficient light by internal dormers.
在后侧和东侧，房屋进行了扩建，并与现有房屋适度融为一体。沙丘地下增加了一层额外的地板，内部老虎窗提供了充足的光线。
The house has been restored with original materials and thermally modified wood was used for the extension. After the restoration, the new home is completely energy neutral.

The exterior wall of the building is made of materials similar to the color of the sand dunes, making the cabin seem to grow naturally from the sand dunes and blend in with nature. Its lines are simple and smooth, without too many gorgeous decorations, but it reveals a sense of grandeur and tranquility in its simplicity.
建筑的外墙材质选用了与沙丘颜色相近的材料，使得小屋仿佛是从沙丘中自然生长出来一般，与大自然浑然一体。其线条简洁流畅，没有过多华丽的装饰，却在简约中透露出一种大气与宁静。
In the extension, new structures were cleverly added to the rear and east side. The design of the extension is very sophisticated and the scale is moderate to ensure harmony with the original building. From the outside, the architectural form of the new part echoes the old building. Whether it is the slope of the roof, the thickness of the wall or the proportion of the doors and windows, they have all been carefully considered, so that the entire building can achieve space expansion and functional upgrades while maintaining its original characteristics, meeting the needs of modern life without losing the charm of a traditional hunting lodge.
在扩建部分，于后部和东侧巧妙地增加了新的结构。扩建部分的设计十分精妙，采用了适度的规模，以确保与原有建筑和谐搭配。从外观上看，新增部分的建筑形式与老建筑相互呼应，无论是屋顶的坡度、墙体的厚度还是门窗的比例，都经过精心考量，让整个建筑在保持原有特色的基础上，实现了空间的拓展与功能的升级，既满足了现代生活的需求，又不失传统狩猎小屋的韵味。
