I was walking to our local pharmacy（药房） when I suddenly remembered I needed to buy a special type of cat food from the vet（兽医）for my daughter's cat. She couldn't afford to pay for the expensive food so I had to pay for it. To be honest, paying $ 300 a month for the cat food made me feel stressed.
When I entered the vet hospital, the vet helper was helping another customer. She knew what kind of cat food I needed to buy and asked ifI wantedapartialcas full case. Thinking I was always busy, I decided to buy a full one.
Just then another new customer hurried in and rushed to the front of the vet helper. The vet helper asked him to wait after me. Since I wasn't in a hurry, I told the helper to serve the gentleman first. I could go to the pharmacy and give them time to do the paperwork while I was gone.
The helper said, "Thanks, that would be great!"
The gentleman said sorry for his cutting in the line just now because of something important to do, and said,"You should go first-you were here before me. "
"No worries, you go right ahead. My pleasure,"I said.
He jokingly replied, " Wow, how can I thank you?"
Not really thinking,I blurted out（脱口而出）,"You could buy me a bag of cat food. Haha." I laughed and left.
